OI think Listening to Literature promises to be a major contribution towards a clearer understanding of our literature as seen and understood from within its dynamic cultural context. It has the potential of being a rare and crucial intervention in the development of literature and literary criticism in South Africa. That also applies to the illuminating of points of intersection of, and interaction between literary art and aspects of other forms of artistic expression.O
